Drawing on my experience and after examining the available details about CommSec, I can say that there are no explicit inactivity fees listed for CommSec accounts. This is fairly notable, as many brokers do charge such fees, which can catch less-active traders by surprise. What stands out for me is that CommSec’s published non-trading fees center mostly on services directly rendered—such as off-market transfers, printed contract notes, or trust deed investigation—rather than penalizing account dormancy. However, I always approach fee structures with caution because some brokers may update their terms, or less-publicized circumstances could occasionally result in additional charges. As of now, though, CommSec does not specify any inactivity fee on its standard individual trading accounts, including both their web platform and mobile app. For me, this creates a somewhat more stable environment for a long-term portfolio, removing some pressure to trade solely to avoid unnecessary charges. Regardless, I recommend regularly reviewing any updates to CommSec’s terms or fee schedules, as industry conditions and broker policies can evolve over time. That’s a habit I maintain carefully to avoid surprises and to protect my capital.
