In my evaluation of Match Securities, I found they offer a reasonably broad range of trading instruments, particularly in the derivatives space, but with notable omissions that could impact certain trading strategies. Specifically, I was able to access forex (FX) pairs, CFDs, ETFs, futures, metals, and indices through their platforms like MetaTrader 5, ML Trader, and IRESS Pro Trader. For me, the depth across forex—claiming 200+ pairs—was a positive, as was the support for both ETFs and futures, which can be useful for diversification and hedging. The ability to trade metals and a range of global indices added some flexibility to my portfolio management. However, it’s crucial to be aware that Match Securities does not offer direct share (stock) trading, cryptocurrencies, or traditional commodity trading. This limitation was particularly relevant for me given the current popularity of crypto and the value of commodities for certain macro strategies. The absence of these assets suggests that traders seeking exposure to those markets would need to look elsewhere. What also gave me pause was the lack of regulatory oversight and insufficient transparency about trading fees and account structures, which increases the risk profile substantially. In my opinion, the available instruments cover most, but not all, typical trader needs, so I’d advise careful consideration if your strategy depends heavily on asset classes that are missing from their offerings.
