From my experience exploring MIB as a broker, I found that it offers a broad selection of trading instruments, but with some important limitations worth pointing out. The core access is to Hong Kong securities, warrants, CBBCs, ETFs, and futures and options. MIB also makes available foreign stocks and access to global securities markets, which may include equities from various major exchanges. However, I didn’t see any direct support for spot forex trading or cryptocurrencies. Commodities are available mainly via futures and options, but the scope and accessibility of these instruments could differ from other brokers who focus specifically on those asset classes. What stands out to me is the emphasis on Hong Kong market products, which might be a good fit if you're focused on that region. The inclusion of margin financing and the ability to hold both securities and commodities accounts is a strength, although the proprietary MIB Trade platform feels rather dated compared to industry standards and doesn’t offer the seamless, cross-asset trading that some traders might expect. It’s also notable that regulatory uncertainties and the nature of the platform mean extra caution is warranted, especially if you prioritize access to forex or digital assets, as these are not currently among MIB’s featured offerings. In summary, for stocks and regional derivatives, MIB is a possible contender, but for comprehensive multi-asset trading, especially including forex and crypto, I would look elsewhere.
