Based on my experience and review of First State Futures, I can say that the availability of the MetaTrader 4 (MT4) platform is a positive sign for those interested in automated trading, such as using Expert Advisors (EAs). MT4 is well known for supporting EAs, which allow for algorithmic strategies and automation – a key tool in my own trading methods when I seek to test or execute strategies without manual intervention. However, as a cautious trader who places strong emphasis on broker transparency and regulatory reliability, I must highlight that while First State Futures advertises a “full license” MT4, the overall trust profile of the broker raises some concerns for me. The firm is regulated by the ICDX in Indonesia and claims to offer segregated accounts, but its BAPPEBTI license—which is a significant regulatory credential—has been revoked. This regulatory ambiguity is not something I take lightly, as regulatory oversight and protection are foundational for safely deploying automated systems. In summary, while technically the MT4 platform provided by First State Futures should support EAs—just as it would at other reputable brokers—the mixed regulatory signals and regional restrictions leave me cautious. Anyone considering running EAs here should, in my view, rigorously test on a demo account first and stay updated on the broker’s licensing status. I prefer to err on the side of security before committing substantial funds or automation.
