In my own experience researching brokers, having a clear understanding of the instruments available is crucial before making any decisions. When I examined ETC, I noticed very quickly that their offerings are not typical of most platforms focused on forex or broad financial markets. Instead, ETC seems to focus exclusively on services related to the electricity market—namely, cross-border trading, power derivatives, and options related to that sector. This means that as a forex trader, or someone looking to access global indices, stocks, commodities, cryptocurrencies, or even traditional forex pairs, ETC simply does not provide those products. Why does this matter? For me, regulatory oversight and asset availability go hand in hand when assessing risk and opportunity. ETC does not have valid regulation and also does not extend into the wider universe of trading instruments that I and many other traders are often interested in. From a conservative standpoint, the absence of forex, stocks, indices, commodities, and cryptocurrencies is a significant limitation. It narrows the platform’s appeal strictly to those who have existing expertise and interest in power derivatives or the electricity market. This level of niche specialization, combined with a lack of regulatory clarity, is not something I would personally consider unless I had a compelling reason and deep experience within that specific energy sector.
