When it comes to international transfers or ATM withdrawals in foreign currencies, there are explicit fees. For example, overseas ATM withdrawals incur a $5 per transaction fee plus a currency conversion fee, and international transfers carry charges between $15 to $25 per transaction in addition to a foreign exchange conversion fee of 1% to 3%. Any financial institution—particularly one as established and regulated as CommBank—relies on detailed documentation. For me, this has underscored the importance of reviewing official schedules before transacting, but so far, I have not discovered any unexpected withdrawal or deposit charges outside of what is officially disclosed.
