In my experience as a forex trader, one of my key considerations when choosing a platform is whether it supports Expert Advisors (EAs) for automated trading strategies. For UBS, most of their core trading and banking services are provided via proprietary platforms such as the UBS Access App, UBS Mobile Banking App, and various wealth management tools. Based on the broker’s overview, there’s no mention of MetaTrader 4 or 5 as standard platforms for retail clients, and therefore, direct EA deployment is not a clearly highlighted feature. UBS appears to focus its trading services on investment and wealth management, offering tailored solutions and financial advice more than self-directed, algorithmic trading. While advanced institutional clients might gain access to some automated trading features, there is no clear support for uploading or managing user-built EAs as is standard with MetaTrader platforms. For me, this cautious approach is understandable, given the institution’s emphasis on professional risk management and regulation. From my perspective, if you are seeking to deploy your own EAs for hands-off trading, UBS may not be the right fit unless you have institutional access or require bespoke automated solutions managed by their team. For everyday retail traders looking for straightforward EA usage, brokers offering tried-and-tested platforms like MT4 or MT5 may be more appropriate. I always recommend verifying the current software offering with UBS directly if automated trading is a non-negotiable part of your strategy, as capabilities and product access may evolve.
