As a seasoned forex trader who has carefully evaluated Questrade, I need to note that trading index products—like the US100—presents specific cost considerations. Questrade’s product list, according to available data, does not include indices among its tradable instruments. The platform focuses on stocks, ETFs, FX, CFDs, options, precious metals, and other securities, yet indices are explicitly marked as unsupported. In my experience, this means that if you're looking to trade the US100 as an index, Questrade would not be able to accommodate that need directly. When it comes to other products, such as ETFs that track indices, trading costs can include spreads, commissions, and any product-specific fees. Stocks and ETFs are commission-free to trade, which is appealing for cost-conscious traders. For options and CFDs, there are specified per-contract or spread-based charges, respectively. However, without direct access to index trading, any exposure to an index such as US100 would have to be achieved via a relevant ETF or CFD, if available—each with its own fee structure. Another critical factor for me is the lack of hidden fees: deposit and withdrawal are free, and there’s no inactivity fee. Spreads on forex start from 0.08 pips, but for indices there is simply no offering, which is crucial for anyone making decisions based on total trading costs. Therefore, if index trading is a core part of your strategy, I would urge caution, as Questrade's current platform does not appear to support those products directly, and you'll need to seek alternatives or proxy exposure.
