While the platform provides a dedicated app for user convenience, I could not identify any specific mention of trading instruments typically associated with forex or CFD brokers, such as forex currency pairs, stocks, indices, cryptocurrencies, or commodities. This distinction is important; many traders may mistakenly assume that a digital bank, especially one as large and reputable within its home market as Rakuten Bank, would offer speculative trading products. However, in my experience, absence of regulatory oversight in combination with a lack of explicit information about tradable instruments presents a significant red flag for anyone seeking direct exposure to financial markets. In this context, Rakuten Bank does not meet the expectations traders have for accessing global financial instruments—it is positioned more as a banking platform than as a trading venue. For me, the risk profile is further elevated by the lack of valid regulation and limited customer support, especially for non-Japanese speakers. My strong recommendation is to proceed with caution and, if your objective is active trading, explore transparent, well-regulated brokers that clearly publish their instrument list and regulatory status.
