In my experience as a trader, I have not found any support for Expert Advisors (EAs) or automated trading on Robinhood’s platforms. The main reason for this is that Robinhood does not provide access to industry-standard trading platforms such as MT4 or MT5, which are commonly used for running EAs and algorithmic strategies. Instead, Robinhood only offers its own proprietary web and mobile platforms. These are designed with simplicity and intuitive navigation in mind but do not include the open architecture or plugin support required for third-party automation tools. For me, this is a significant limitation. As someone who values the ability to automate strategies or backtest using advanced software, the absence of EA compatibility feels restrictive. While Robinhood’s platform is easy to use and suitable for basic self-directed trading, it simply is not built for traders who rely on automation, custom scripts, or even more advanced order types. On a practical level, the absence of EA support also fits with Robinhood’s general approach: appealing to beginners with limited trading tools, rather than catering to experienced, algorithmic traders. For those who require robust automation or advanced analytics, it is prudent to look for a broker that is not only regulated, but also offers full compatibility with established trading platforms that support EAs. Therefore, based on my direct study and assessment, Robinhood cannot be recommended if automated trading via Expert Advisors is a necessity.
