Abstract:IG Securities Japan expands 24-hour and extended sessions for US stock and ETF CFDs from Oct. 6, 2025, with defined margin liquidation rules.

IG Securities will expand round-the-clock access for US stock and ETF CFDs, extending availability across regular, pre-market, and after-hours sessions starting Monday, October 6, 2025, in Japan. The update adds 30 additional names to the 24-hour schedule and a further 50 symbols to extended trading hours, aligning access windows to US Daylight Time for clarity and consistency.
Under the change, 24-hour trading will run from 9:00 AM Monday to 6:00 AM Saturday (US Daylight Time), enabling continuous execution across the US week. Extended trading hours for additional instruments will operate 5:00 PM to 9:00 AM Monday through Friday (until 6:00 AM Friday) in US Daylight Time, covering both pre-market and after-hours liquidity.

Risk controls remain explicit: if an accounts effective margin balance is below 100% of maintenance margin at 11:00 AM each business day, positions are subject to checks, with routine stop-loss only applying to corporate and FX accounts. If the effective margin falls below 75% of the maintenance margin at any time, IG Securities will liquidate positions to mitigate further loss exposure under the maintenance margin liquidation rule.
The expansion targets high-intent demand to trade US stock CFDs and ETF CFDs from Japan across overnight sessions, reducing timezone friction for investors and active traders. The clear US Daylight Time schedule, combined with explicit 100% daily effective margin checks and a 75% forced liquidation threshold, provides transparent parameters for strategy and risk management.
IG Securities is the Japan subsidiary of IG Group, offering access to CFDs and related products for retail and professional clients, with a focus on transparent trading hours and risk controls.
