In my experience evaluating brokers, one of the first things I look for is robust support for automated trading, specifically compatibility with Expert Advisors (EAs). With MFG, I noted that the broker primarily offers its own proprietary platforms—EX Trader, SPTrader, Auton, and OATS.NET—rather than the standard MetaTrader suite that's well known for EA support. MFG’s platforms are geared towards securities, futures, and options trading, providing market data, charting, and analytical tools, but there's no mention or indication of native EA compatibility. From what I’ve seen, platforms like MT4 and MT5 are specifically designed for automated trading and allow traders to use EAs seamlessly. Since MFG does not advertise support for these or mention any integration with algorithmic trading features, I have to cautiously conclude that automated trading with EAs is not a supported feature on their platforms. For traders who, like me, rely heavily on automation to execute their strategies, this is an important limitation to recognize before considering MFG as a primary broker. The lack of explicit EA functionality means any automation would have to be custom-built outside their platforms, if feasible at all—a process that can be complex, less secure, and may introduce operational risk. For careful traders who value transparency and defined features, I believe verifying with MFG directly before proceeding is crucial.
