From my experience and after reviewing CHIEF’s available information, I can confirm that Expert Advisors (EAs) or any kind of automated trading via MT4 or MT5 are not possible with this broker. CHIEF operates exclusively on its own proprietary trading platform, Chief Deal, which is designed primarily for mobile use and lacks compatibility with widely-used industry standards like MetaTrader 4 or 5. This is a key detail, because MT4 and MT5 are the primary platforms that support EAs—custom scripts that automate trading decisions. The absence of MT4/5 support means there’s no native infrastructure on CHIEF for uploading, testing, or running Expert Advisors. For me, as an independent trader who values automated trading strategies, this is a significant limitation. I rely on automation not just for convenience, but for consistent, emotion-free execution, and the flexibility to backtest ideas. In my risk analysis, I never recommend trying workarounds or third-party bridges because these could expose sensitive data or lead to unstable trading conditions. In sum, while CHIEF seems focused on securities and futures for Hong Kong markets and offers a self-developed app, traders seeking automated trading or EA-based strategies need to consider a different broker that provides established platforms like MT4 or MT5. Always evaluate carefully if automated trading is a core part of your strategy.
