In my experience as an active trader, swap fees can significantly affect the bottom line, especially for those who hold positions overnight regularly. Kontakperkasa Futures lists its overnight fees quite transparently: for example, $3 per lot per night on the Hang Seng Index and varying rates for other products such as $2 and $5 for select contracts. From what I’ve seen trading with both regional and global brokers, these overnight financing charges are somewhat on the higher side, particularly when compared to international brokers that often have more competitive swap rates or even sometimes promote swap-free accounts. However, I understand these fees are partly a result of the costs associated with local market regulations and clearing requirements in Indonesia. Kontakperkasa’s status as a regulated participant—licensed by BAPPEBTI and registered with the local exchanges—does lend some reassurance about fee legitimacy, but ultimately, the swap fees here are not a strong point for cost-conscious traders like myself. For those trading Indonesian instruments or needing local account funding, these charges may be a necessary tradeoff for regulatory safety, but compared to the broader global market, they do make a noticeable impact on long-hold strategies. I always caution fellow traders to incorporate such costs into their overall strategy planning, as they can erode profits over time, especially for high-frequency or position-based approaches.
