Based on my experience as a trader and after carefully considering Maven’s public profile, I need to be clear that Maven does not provide detailed public information regarding its spread structure—whether fixed or variable. Generally, transparency regarding spread types is a baseline expectation I have for brokers; unfortunately, Maven’s lack of clarity here immediately stands out as a red flag for me. This caution is even more necessary upon noting that Maven’s FCA license has been “exceeded,” meaning they no longer possess active regulatory oversight. That substantially increases risks, and for something as critical as spread management, proper regulation is essential. In my years trading, I’ve found that when brokers do not specify whether spreads are fixed or variable, especially under less-than-clear regulation, it typically points to unpredictable conditions during periods of significant market volatility. During major news events, unregulated or loosely overseen brokers often widen variable spreads sharply, which can result in unexpected costs for traders. Without transparent terms, I personally would have no confidence in the behavior of Maven’s spreads during volatile situations, and I see that as a potentially significant risk. To summarize, the absence of explicit information from Maven about spread types and the lack of valid regulatory status lead me to be very cautious. If spread predictability and fair trading conditions matter—as they do for me—I would advise careful deliberation and to favor brokers that publicly disclose these crucial details.
