Based on my thorough exploration of CMF as a regulated brokerage operating in China, my access to trading instruments centers primarily around commodity and financial futures. CMF’s business is firmly established in commodity futures brokerage—so for me, that means I can trade contracts based on underlying products like metals, energy, and agricultural goods. This focus aligns with their regulatory oversight under CFFEX, which specializes in financial derivatives. When it comes to financial futures, I also have access to instruments tied to financial indices, interest rates, currencies, and bonds. However, I couldn’t find evidence of direct access to forex spot trading, stocks, or cryptocurrencies. This is important because it shapes my expectations and strategy—I approach CMF knowing it’s tailored for futures trading rather than for a broad multi-asset experience. Why does this matter to me as an investor? Regulation by CFFEX and the clear definition of business areas means I can trust the instruments offered are legitimate and subject to required oversight. Still, before opening an account, I always consider whether the available instruments match my trading needs. Right now, with CMF, I access commodity futures and a selection of financial futures, but not direct spot forex, equities, or cryptocurrency products. This focused offering may suit me if I am primarily interested in Chinese-regulated futures markets, but I’d be cautious if I needed broader asset diversity.
