In my experience evaluating Topstep as a trading firm, fee transparency is especially crucial because proprietary trading models can handle deposits and withdrawals differently than traditional brokers. According to my research, Topstep does not impose any deposit fees, which is a positive aspect for initial account setup since it allows me to allocate my funds more efficiently at the start. However, when it comes to withdrawals, there is a fee for certain methods. For example, if I choose to withdraw via Wise, the minimum withdrawal amount is $125, and each transaction carries a $20 fee. Other withdrawal methods, like ACH or international wire, are available, but some fees and timelines may vary, and details about wire/SWIFT fees are not always clearly stated. From my perspective, it’s important to factor in these withdrawal costs, especially for smaller account balances, because high withdrawal thresholds and fees can impact how often I move profits. I also noticed that Topstep’s model means I'm not trading my own deposited funds but aiming to access firm capital by passing their evaluation. Still, whenever real money is involved, I make it a priority to double-check all fee structures before proceeding, as unclear or unexpected charges can complicate my financial planning and risk management. Ultimately, the lack of deposit fees is helpful, but the withdrawal fees and minimums require cautious consideration.
