Based on my experience reviewing Standard Bank as a trading broker, one of the major concerns I faced was the lack of transparency regarding critical trading conditions—specifically, leverage levels for forex and other asset classes. Despite searching thoroughly, I could not find any clearly published information about the exact leverage offered for major forex pairs or whether different assets, such as CFDs, indices, or metals, have distinct leverage structures. This absence of disclosure is significant for me because knowing the available leverage is essential for risk management and developing a responsible trading strategy. I know from practice that brokers typically state their leverage parameters upfront; the failure to do so makes it challenging to assess the risk profile and suitability of Standard Bank for different trader types. Furthermore, Standard Bank does not hold valid regulatory status, which raises additional concerns about client protection and the reliability of any unpublished trading conditions. Given these uncertainties, I prefer to approach such brokers with heightened caution. I would not commit real funds without first obtaining full details—ideally in writing—about available leverage and margin requirements for each asset, as well as other trading terms. For any trader, exercising prudence in such situations is, in my view, non-negotiable.
