From my perspective as a seasoned trader, Yuanta’s fee structure revolves primarily around transparent but sometimes high transactional and administrative charges instead of hidden costs or unclear spreads. As far as my experience shows, Yuanta sets its standard commission at 0.25% of the transaction amount, with a minimum charge of HK$100 per trade. This rate is generally aligned with what I’ve encountered at other established brokers in Hong Kong, but traders making smaller trades will feel the impact of that minimum quite acutely. Margin trading comes with a standard interest rate set at the prime rate plus 5%, which is typical for the region, though it’s always worth noting that leveraged positions can escalate costs rapidly. Unlike some international forex brokers, Yuanta doesn’t prominently advertise spreads, largely because their focus is more on stocks, futures, and options than on spot forex products. In my experience using their platforms, all trading-related transactional costs are clearly broken down, including Hong Kong stamp duty (currently 0.1% of transaction), levy, trading fees, and other regulatory taxes. For those—like me—who are attentive to total trading cost, it’s important to factor in these additional fees. Furthermore, while Yuanta doesn’t charge deposit or withdrawal fees directly, third-party bank charges can add up, especially with international wires. Notably, Yuanta’s nominee and other administrative service fees have struck me as somewhat higher compared to some peers, especially if you use extra account features. I advise fellow traders to review their cost schedule carefully before committing. In my opinion, the overall pricing structure is competitive for active participants in the Hong Kong market, but can be less favorable to low-frequency or smaller-volume traders due to those minimum commission thresholds and ancillary charges. Approaching their fee schedule with caution and doing a full cost assessment is vital for prudent account management.
