From my research and close examination of CTG, it became immediately clear that pinning down transparent and reliable information about their commission structure is difficult—and for good reason. CTG is not a straightforward forex broker; its primary focus, according to the details I gathered, is on managed futures services rather than standard ECN or raw spread forex accounts. Furthermore, any discussion of CTG’s fees points instead to the typical charges by Commodity Trading Advisors (CTAs): specifically, an annual management fee and a performance-based incentive fee. In practical terms, this means that, rather than charging traders a fixed commission per lot as most reputable ECN brokers do, CTG and its affiliated CTAs tend to assess fees based on a client’s total assets under management and trading performance. Given CTG’s unverified status and the suspicion surrounding its NFA regulatory claim, I have to be very cautious as an independent trader when considering entrusting my funds. I could not verify the existence of standard per-lot commissions for self-directed forex trading with them, unlike with most major brokers. If having a clear, transparent commission structure—especially on ECN or raw accounts—is important for your trading plan, CTG’s model may not fit those needs. For me, fee clarity is non-negotiable, and this lack of transparency is a significant red flag.
