In my direct experience reviewing ABX, I've found that the only trading platform they offer is their proprietary MetalDesk platform. This platform is specifically built for trading physical precious metals like gold, silver, and platinum. To my knowledge and after careful investigation, ABX does not support the use of MT4, MT5, or cTrader—platforms that are generally standard among many mainstream forex and CFD brokers. This exclusivity to MetalDesk is important to note because, unlike MT4 and MT5, which are widely known for their user community, algorithmic trading features, and broad broker compatibility, MetalDesk seems to be tailor-made for a niche market focused on allocated precious metals rather than forex or CFDs. For traders like me who rely on automations or EAs (expert advisors) typical to MT4/5, or who value cTrader’s advanced charting, this could be a significant limitation. The absence of multi-platform support likely narrows the platform’s appeal to those already comfortable with MetalDesk and its specialized market. For me, this restriction signals the need for extra due diligence—especially as MetalDesk’s proprietary nature means less transparency and community feedback compared to more established platforms. For anyone considering ABX, I recommend evaluating whether the MetalDesk platform alone meets your trading needs, since alternatives such as MT4, MT5, or cTrader are not available.
