Reflecting on my experience and due diligence with Taishin Securities, I find their regulatory background in Taiwan—under the Taipei Exchange—to be a reassuring factor for reliability. The firm has confirmed office presence and offers a solid mix of trading options across securities, futures, ETFs, and more. However, there are some potential drawbacks that cannot be ignored, especially from a conservative, risk-aware trader's standpoint. First, while the customer service is advertised as 24/7 via live chat, the phone support hours are limited to local business days and hours. For traders dealing with fast-moving markets, timely responses outside Taiwanese business hours can be critical, and I cannot fully rely on customer service that may not always be reachable by phone when needed. Second, the platform’s website and software can be confusing, as echoed by at least one other experienced trader. Personally, I place high value on platform clarity and user-friendliness, given how complex order execution and risk management can become. Another concern is the lack of detailed fee disclosure. For me, transparency about costs is critical. Unclear fee structures can erode trust and complicate decision-making, especially for frequent or high-volume traders. Lastly, even though the regulatory status mitigates many concerns, I take into account the recent disciplinary action reported against the company—such developments always warrant additional vigilance. In summary, while I appreciate the strong local oversight and range of services, I am cautious about relying solely on Taishin Securities’ customer service and platform reliability given these reservations. For any trader considering this broker, careful due diligence and a clear understanding of all terms is essential.
