With most regulated brokers, especially those overseen by CYSEC like ARGUS, the standard expectation is to provide personal identification documents—typically a government-issued ID or passport, proof of address (such as a recent utility bill or bank statement), and documents validating the payment method used (like a card statement or proof of bank account ownership). These requirements exist to comply with anti-money laundering laws and to ensure the security of both parties. However, my evaluation of ARGUS raises some real concerns. While ARGUS is regulated in Cyprus and offers the typical array of financial services, user reports highlight troubling challenges surrounding the withdrawal process. Several users describe experiencing delays, unresponsive customer service, or being subjected to unusual requests—such as depositing additional funds or paying a “15% tax” or margin in order to access their own funds. These practices deviate from reputable industry standards and, for me, are clear red flags. Therefore, before proceeding with any withdrawal from ARGUS, I would personally triple-check that all documentation matches my account details precisely and be extremely cautious of any nonstandard requests for extra deposits or margins. If further documents are asked for beyond the usual KYC requirements, I would be hesitant and consider reaching out to their regulators for clarification before providing additional sensitive information or funds. Protecting my capital is my top priority in situations like this.
