When I evaluated TopstepFX, I found that their platform is sharply focused on one specific area: futures trading. Unlike many brokers that offer access to forex, stocks, indices, commodities, or cryptocurrencies, TopstepFX only supports futures. This narrow focus became quite clear as I looked through their available instruments; there are no options for trading other asset classes – not even commodities or forex, which are common among other brokers. For me, this is a crucial consideration because it significantly limits the ways I can diversify my trading portfolio. It is worth highlighting that diversification is an important component of risk management in trading. By only providing access to futures, TopstepFX does not allow me to hedge or explore positions outside of that single market. This could amplify my risk exposure if market conditions shift dramatically. The platform does support these futures programs through their proprietary application, TopstepX, but the scope of available markets is otherwise quite restricted. Because TopstepFX lacks regulatory oversight and confines itself to futures, I remain conservative in my assessment. While their focus might be attractive to traders who are exclusively interested in futures, anyone seeking access to other trading instruments such as forex, stocks, indices, cryptocurrencies, or commodities will not find those options available here. In my experience, understanding exactly what can and cannot be traded is critical for aligning with one’s trading goals and managing risk appropriately.
