In the financial services industry, reputation is everything. It's a currency built on trust, transparency, and time.
But what happens when that reputation is held for ransom?
A new, predatory "review-for-ransom" scheme has emerged, and it's time we brought it into the light. It's a "pay-to-play" tactic that operates like a digital-age shakedown.
Heres how the unethical tactic works:
1. The "Review": A website, posing as an industry "watchdog," publishes a review of a brokerage. It's almost always negative, filled with unverified claims and skewed data.
2. The "Outreach": The broker naturally reaches out to correct the public record.
3. The "Offer": The site responds, not with interest in facts, but with a "solution." For a significant fee (often tens of thousands of dollars), they will "re-evaluate" and "paint a positive picture."
This is not journalism. It is extortion.
We at PrimeX Capital have been targeted by this. Our position is, and will always be, unequivocal:
We will not participate. We will not pay.
We will never pay for a positive review. We will never pay to "fix" a false one.
Paying extortion fees only encourages this predatory behavior and harms the entire industry—including the clients these sites pretend to protect.
Instead, we will invest that same money and energy into what actually matters:
✅ Our Clients: By providing responsive, human support (like our dedicated Account Managers).
✅ Our Platform: By ensuring it is secure, fast, and reliable.
✅ Our Transparency: By working with actual recognized regulatory bodies.
This is where my background as a risk auditor becomes a core part of our company's DNA. We believe in earning our reputation through verifiable facts and real client satisfaction, not buying it from a "reviewer" in a back-alley deal.
A Call for a Higher Standard
To our clients and partners: We know you're discerning. We ask you to look past the noise and focus on what is verifiable: our regulatory standing, our platform's performance, and your own experience. We trust you to see these "pay-to-play" schemes for the shakedowns they are.
To our industry peers: The only way to stop this is to stop paying. Every company that pays a ransom funds the next attack. It's time to draw the line. Let them write their false articles. Our integrity is not for sale, and neither is our industry's.
Our reputation is not for sale.
