A Visit to TOKIN in Japan – No Office Found

Reasons for Field Survey
The Japanese foreign exchange market is one of the world's most important forex trading markets, boasting a long history, a mature financial system, and strict regulatory mechanisms. It holds a crucial position in the global forex market. With numerous participants and high trading activity, it is subject to strict oversight by regulatory agencies such as the Financial Services Agency of Japan, ensuring the market's standardized operation. To help investors gain a more comprehensive understanding of the actual operations of forex dealers in the region, the field research team conducted an on-site visit to Japan.
Field Survey Process
The target address for this field survey was Room 602, Asahi Bldg. 6-12-10 Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo 104-0061, Japan.
Upon arrival, the field surveyors observed that while the Ginza area, where the address is located, has a strong business atmosphere overall, the surrounding corporate campus and streetscape are generally average, lacking the typical characteristics of a high-end financial institution. The field surveyors successfully captured a panoramic view of the building, with clear building signs. However, a thorough inspection of the exterior walls, entrances, and other areas revealed no TOKIN-related company logos or office directions.
The field surveyors successfully entered the building and, while they identified some company names on the building's signage, found no record of TOKIN. Subsequent verification confirmed that the signage did not contain any information about the company.
Following the directions, the surveyors successfully reached the 6th floor (the target floor) and confirmed the location of Room 602. However, the on-site conditions were completely inconsistent with an office location: there was no TOKIN nameplate, doorplate, or business signage at the entrance to Room 602, nor were any company signs or guideposts found in the surrounding area. The surveyors attempted to enter the room but were unsuccessful, and from the outside, it was impossible to determine whether it was used as an office. The surveyors confirmed that the location was not a shared office, ruling out the possibility that it operated as a shared workstation.
The surveyors conducted a comprehensive search of the entire 6th floor and found no signs indicating TOKIN's presence, confirming that the address was not the broker's actual business location.
Thus, the survey confirmed that the brokerage firm TOKIN did not have a physical business location.
Field Survey Summary
The surveyors visited the TOKIN as planned. They could not find the broker's company name and other information at its publicly displayed business place, indicating that the broker does not have a real business location. Investors are advised to consider this information comprehensively before making decisions.
